The United States of Tara star Brie Larson has entered into negotiations to play the female lead in the King Kong origins movie, Kong: Skull Island.
Larson would join Thor, The Avengers, and Crimson Peak star Tom Hiddleston on the cast. The cast also once included recent Academy Award nominee Michael Keaton and recent Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons, but both of them had to step away from the movie due to scheduling conflict. One actor who is said to be a possible replacement for one of the departed stars is Russell Crowe, but whether or not he'll be interested in the role won't be known until the next draft of the movie is turned in and he can read it.
